TC Paw’s Annual Herding of the Cats (people)

We invite you to share an afternoon with TC Paw Cat Rescue volunteers, foster families, people who have adopted TC Paw cats, along with our beloved cat loving community in celebrating the iconic barn cat: unsung heroes of the countryside.

Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 3pm to 7pm
Buttercup Farm, 683 N. Rusch Rd., Traverse City, MI 49696

Join us for an afternoon barn party celebrating the rural feline. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the countryside, a freshly grilled meal (beef, chicken, and vegetarian options), live entertainment, lawn games, and convivial camaraderie. All of this for a twenty-five dollar ticket ($25 donation). Tickets are available at our website, or click this link: GET TICKETS.

The TC Paw Barn Cat Party will be an all-ages family-picnic style event. Please bring your own lawn chair, blanket, and beverage of choice (soft-drinks and water will be available with your meal). Cups, plates, ice, and table service will be provided with your meal ticket.

As with some humans, some cats prefer country living and open spaces, rather than a domestic life in the city or suburbs. We invite you, as well as your family and friends, to join us for an afternoon in the countryside as we honor and celebrate Northern Michigan’s wonderful barn cats.

Barn cats play a crucial role on farms and homesteads, keeping rodent populations (mice, rats, voles) in check, as well as protecting stored crops and grains from diseases spread by rodents. Barn cats offer companionship, and form close bonds with other animals and humans.

Beyond their practical function, barn cats bring a touch of personality and charm to the rural environment.
